(Special Notice – 009 COVID-19)
CONSIDERING
That the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has declared the national health system in a state of permanent emergency, for the purpose of strengthening preventive measures and avoiding the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19 virus, following its arrival in our country.
DECIDES
For the duration of the national emergency, a duty Maritime Physician is designated for each Maritime Jurisdiction, in order to assist in the prevention and management of possible cases of COVID-19 contamination, and to act in coordination with the regional health authorities.
To this end, the following Maritime Physicians authorized by the INEA are designated to support the Port Captaincies:

In the Port Captaincies of La Ceiba, Apure, Amazonas, and Delta Amacuro, coordination must be made for the support of internal medicine physicians from the public hospital network.
The Maritime Authority, through the Institute’s General Management of Operations, shall ensure strict compliance with this Circular.
