Subject: Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Guidance on the gradual and safe resumption of operations of cruise ships in the European Union in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic
In order to facilitate the gradual resumption of cruise ship operations, which have been severely affected by the pandemic, the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) have jointly developed the “Guidance on the gradual and safe resumption of operations of cruise ships in the European Union in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic”, which is attached below.
The objective of the Guidance is to facilitate the safe resumption of cruise ship operations in the European Union by recommending minimum measures expected to be implemented by all stakeholders, while maintaining general safety and security standards.
