Subject: Coronavirus (COVID-19) – WHO e-learning courses “Promoting public health measures in response to COVID-19 on cargo ships and fishing vessels” and “Operational considerations for managing COVID-19 cases and outbreaks on board ships”
On August 26, 2020, the Secretary-General circulated WHO guidance on promoting public health measures on cargo ships and fishing vessels (circular No. 4204/Add.28) and has now received information on the following two e-learning courses developed by WHO:
1. “Promoting public health measures in response to COVID-19 on cargo ships and fishing vessels”

At the end of this course, the learner will be able to describe the public health measures that would protect seafarers during their travel to the ship, on board the ship, and during their journey home, as well as prevent and manage a COVID-19 outbreak on board a cargo or fishing vessel.
Target audience: seafarers, shipowners, unions and associations, and competent health and transport authorities.
