Marine Firefighters from INEA assist those affected by heavy rains in Güiria
MPPT – INEA Press (08/13/2024).- Marine Firefighters from the Güiria Port Captaincy joined the actions undertaken by the Revolutionary Government to address the needs of communities affected by the passing of Tropical Wave 28, which generated torrential rains and river overflows in the capital of the Valdez municipality of Sucre state.
To this end, the INEA Port Captaincy made land vehicles available for the transport of goods sent by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, who also ordered the mobilization of a logistical contingent to provide comprehensive protection for the families affected by this natural phenomenon.
In this sense, following instructions from the Ministry of People’s Power for Transport (MPPT), work is being carried out hand in hand with other security agencies in the entity and volunteer personnel regarding the transport and delivery of mattresses, food, and drinking water.
Likewise, it has an active participation in the situational room installed in the entity, to provide any pre-hospital support that may be required.
According to the census conducted by the Marine Firefighters currently on duty in the area, the most affected communities were: 19 de abril, La Colombina, La Salina, Bermúdez, La Vanti, Calle Juncal, La Campiña, Guayacán, Boyacá, La Trinchera, Independiente, Calle Monagas, Barrio Independencia, 4 de Febrero, Calle Los 45, Santa Eduvigis, La Victoria, San José, Río Salado, Av. Paria, Valle Verde, Tamarindo, Río de Güiria, and Indio Libre.
