INEA Press (19.07.2025) | The Venezuelan Nautical Studies Center (CENAVE) of the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA) has successfully completed the course of Azimuthal Propulsion Tug, training 14 Coastal Captains, who make up the seventh cohort of this specialized program. The participation of Karin Rodríguez stands out in this promotion, as she becomes the first woman in Venezuela to hold this important rank.

The training, which was carried out under the direction of CENAVE, included a theoretical phase taught in the center’s classrooms. Subsequently, the participants had the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired through practical maneuvers aboard the tugboat “Linda Barinas”, thus consolidating their skills in a real environment.

This initiative, framed within the efforts of the Great Transport Mission Venezuela and the INEA, underscores the country’s commitment to strengthening its maritime capacity. The preparation of highly qualified professionals in the handling of tugboats with azimuthal systems not only optimizes port and navigation operations at the national level, but also contributes to the projection of Venezuela in the regional and international maritime field.
