The National Institute of Aquatic SpacesThe National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA) hereby informs companies in the aquatic sector—Shipping Agencies, Freight Forwarders, Cargo Consolidators, Multimodal Transport, Shipping Companies, Ship Brokerage, Maritime Services, and Underwater Activity Companies in any of their categories or activities—that the renewal process begins within 90 days prior to the expiration of their operating authorization.
If, once the validity of the authorization has ended, the company has not initiated the renewal process or has not successfully completed the submission of the requested documents, it will be subject to the corresponding administrative process (Fine for late renewal).
If a company does not intend to renew its operating authorization, it is required to formally notify the aquatic authority of the cessation of operations before the authorization expires. This must be done via official letter to the following email addresses: transporteacuatico@inea.gob.ve and estadistica@inea.gob.ve in order to avoid administrative sanctions.
Shipping Agencies and Ship-to-Ship (STS) Transfer Service Providers that hold five-year (05) permits must request an annual update. For the renewal of their operating authorization, they also have 90 days prior to expiration to initiate the corresponding process.
