Subject: Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Declaration of the members of the Port Authorities Roundtable (PAR) in view of the global situation due to COVID-19
The Secretary-General has received the “Declaration of the members of the Port Authorities Roundtable (PAR) in view of the global situation due to COVID-19”, signed by a group of leading port authorities from around the world and submitted by Singapore with the request that it be circulated.
Recognizing that the maritime sector plays a critical role in keeping trade flows open in the global fight against COVID-19, 20 members of the PAR from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America met on April 24, 2020, in Singapore to declare their commitment to ensuring that their ports remain open despite the current pandemic.
