INEA HELD THE 1ST OPEN WATER SWIMMING COMPETITION IN CIUDAD BOLÍVAR

    19-01-2025

Within the framework of its 23rd Anniversary of institutional management, the National Institute of Maritime Spaces (INEA) held the 1st Edition of the 2025 Open Water Competition in Ciudad Bolívar this weekend, featuring a total of 45 athletes from various states across the country

The Venezuelan Maritime Authority worked in coordination with the Mayorship of Angostura del Orinoco, the Mayorship of Ciudad Orinoco, the Bolivarian National Guard, Civil Protection, Municipal Firefighters, the Bolívar State Police, the Maritime Police, the Municipal Police, and Inatur, to guarantee the safety of the swimmers in the Orinoco River.

Likewise, INEA deployed an ambulance boat to facilitate pre-hospital care, as well as the Marine Firefighters service

Upon completion of the competition, the top three female and male finishers were awarded. This activity serves as further preparation for the athletes who will compete in the IV Orinoco River Swim Crossing, scheduled to take place in February 2025

Prior to the event, a route recognition of the competition course was conducted alongside the athletes, including an inspection of the start and finish points. Several local swimming clubs from Ciudad Bolívar also joined this activity.

In this way, the Great Transport Mission Venezuela, through its attached entity INEA, contributes to the expansion and promotion of sports activities that strengthen the foundations for a life free of violence, as ordered by our Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros
