RENEWAL OF GMDSS OPERATOR – UNRESTRICTED

GLOBAL MARITIME DISTRESS AND SAFETY SYSTEM (GMDSS) UNRESTRICTED OPERATOR (RENEWAL)
- Identity Card.
- Passport (Optional).
- High-resolution, sharp photograph, blue background, in Uniform No. 2 (stripes visible according to hierarchical rank, both shoulders and face visible, updated within the last six months, with a neutral facial expression, no groomed patterns/shapes in the beard for men, and no plunging necklines for women, no photomontages). This must be attached in the SEAFARER FILE section.
- Expired document (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) Unrestricted Operator).
- Credential (both sides) or Merchant Marine Certificate of Competency. This must be attached in the SEAFARER FILE section, under the CERTIFICATES tab.
- Proof of English language proficiency (minimum level 3, issued by a duly registered academy with its respective RIF [Tax Registry Number], ink stamp, and visible signature).
- The IMO Courses (required and additional, both sides, including registration and folio numbers). The validity of the requested document depends on the date of these courses. They must be attached in the SEAFARER FILE section, under the COURSES tab.
- Seafarer Book (all used pages).
Maritime Medical Certificate (physical and mental fitness with vision and hearing specification), in the Maritime Medicine format found on the INEA website (must be performed by a Physician authorized by the INEA or an Internist Physician from the Public Network). Applicants over 40 years of age must present a cardiovascular evaluation report and an electrocardiogram (must be performed by a Cardiologist, Internist, Intensivist, or Emergency Physician).- Payment for document issuance, made to the Banesco Checking Account, under the name of INEA, 0134-1099-2200-0100-0780, RIF G-20002141-1, in accordance with the amounts indicated in the SEAFARER PROCEDURES PAYMENT TABLE pursuant to Article 59, Item 12 (located next to the TYPE OF REQUEST). This Table is updated at the DICOM rate every Monday at noon. “The date of the payment made must correspond to the date of the request and is valid for three months once processed”.
- The INEA payment settlement form will be uploaded to each user’s “SEAFARER FILE,” under the “REMARKS” tab, by the Seafarer Management personnel once the payment has been confirmed.

Note: Requests before the INEA shall be made without the need to present folders or compact discs. All documents must be valid, legible, digitized in PDF format, and attached in the SINEA.
