01-03-2025
With the support of the workers of the Carenero Port Authority, the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA) carried out a cleaning day at the Aguasal resort in the state of Miranda, in which 44 bags of solid waste that contaminated the coastal marine environment were collected.
A group of volunteers from MINEC, ECOBRIÓN, Ecology and Environment, and directors of the Aguasal Club also participated in the activity, whose objective is to promote the rational use of aquatic spaces and the creation of ecological awareness.
The participants were divided into groups and equipped with gloves and bags to collect the different types of waste, classify them, and record them on forms.
A total of 18,427 kg of glass and 17,727 kg of plastics were collected. No organic material, wood, or cardboard was found.
This is how the Ministry of People’s Power for Transportation and INEA contribute to ecological restoration and climate change mitigation, as ordered by our Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro, with the recovery of watersheds being the adopted strategy.
