The National Institute of Maritime Spaces (INEA) is executing a Special Strategic Outreach Plan along the coastline of La Vela de Coro, Falcón State, ahead of the ‘Safe Carnivals 2025’ Security Operation. This initiative aims to guarantee the safety of visitors and tourists throughout the region.

During a site inspection conducted by administrative personnel and the Maritime Police of the La Vela de Coro Port Captaincy along the Buchuaco – El Supí beach axis, several irregularities were identified. These included the construction of a lookout platform in the La Playita sector, demolition works on property improvements, and three instances of unauthorized economic activities within the 80-meter maritime jurisdiction zone.

In this regard, INEA has instructed commercial service providers to complete the necessary procedures for project authorization, structural modification, and economic activity licensing. These requirements are in accordance with Article 287, literal ‘a’, and numerals 2 and 3 of the General Law of Marinas and Related Activities (LGMAC).

The concerned parties were attended to at the Port Captaincy for the filing of documentation and the granting of authorizations, as applicable.

In light of the upcoming Carnival holidays, the Maritime Authority is intensifying control and supervision efforts over all activities conducted along the coastline
