(La Guaira) – In a display of cognitive sovereignty and scientific vanguard, the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA), through its academic arm, the Venezuelan Nautical Education Center (CENAVE), delivered the keynote lecture: “Transforming the DNA of the Future: Navigating towards Ocean Literacy and Nautical Education 4.0.”

The meeting, held in the “CA. Enrique Domínguez García” auditorium of the Bolivarian Navy Academy, was established as a strategic axis for the training of cadets and professionals, aligning Venezuelan maritime education with international standards of efficiency and sustainability.

Science at the service of marine sovereignty

The session began with a presentation by Dr. Nelsy Rivero, Biologist and PhD in Ecology, who addressed Ocean Literacy as a fundamental pillar for sovereign decision-making in the conservation of our seas. Rivero, national coordinator of the “Blue Schools of Venezuela,” highlighted the importance of connecting science with the classroom to sensitize new generations to climate change and micro-biodiversity.

“Working together with INEA, we contribute with educational projects that establish that vital connection with the protection of our seas, from childhood to the active professional,” the specialist emphasized.

Horizon 2030: The New Profile of the Venezuelan Mariner

For his part, Rear Admiral Luis Mérida Galindo, Director of International Affairs of INEA, presented the thesis “Horizon 2030: The New DNA of the Maritime Professional.” In his speech, he detailed the roadmap for the transition toward the digital era and the decarbonization of the aquatic sector.

Mérida Galindo underscored the imperative need to adapt the educational system to Cybersecurity, the use of high-fidelity simulators, and the implementation of learning platforms that allow the Venezuelan navy to compete under the highest global standards, always within a framework of professional ethics and patriotic commitment.

    Commitment to Technological Vanguard

The event culminated with the presentation of awards by the CENAVE authorities, who praised the professional culture of the speakers as guarantors of the protection of marine ecosystems and humanity.

With this initiative, INEA, under the management of its leadership and aligned with the Special Plans of the National Executive, reaffirms its leadership in the Aquatic Motor, ensuring that the human talent of the Great Transport Mission Venezuela leads the scientific and technological vanguard in the region.
