National Institute of Aquatic Spaces
CONSIDERING
The National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA) is responsible for ensuring that port administrators, their port facilities, and those under construction maintain the security levels provided for by law, concerning land management, through the planning and execution of construction works and the operation of ports and port facilities.
CONSIDERING
That the ISO 9001 Standard is a standard of the International Organization for Standardization applied to products and services related to quality management and is applicable to any type of organization in any sector or activity.
DECIDES
By means of this circular, the entire Aquatic Sector, and specifically port administrators, are informed that as of this date, the following is established:
Port administrators must implement a Quality Management System under the ISO 9001:2015 Standard before June 30, 2019; this requirement shall be indispensable for the granting of Concessions, Operating Concessions, Habilitation, and Operating Authorizations to operate and manage a port or port-type facility.
The Aquatic Authority, through the Port Management Office and the Information Technology Office, shall ensure compliance with this Circular.
The content of this Circular shall be notified through all dissemination mechanisms.
